FUTURO SIMPLE

Theme: FUTURE WITH BE GOING TO.
Objective: Express predictions and plans future with be going to in
affirmative, negative and interrogative forms
Ask information questions with progressive future tense.
INFORMATION
1. Este futuro conBE GOING TO en inglés seusapara expresar predicciones
y planes en el futuro.
Paul is going to finish his homework in an hour: Paul terminará su tarea
en una hora.
I am going to study French next year: Estudiaré francés el próximo año.
You are going to a profesional next month: Será un profesional el próximo
año.
AFFIRMA TIVE FORM .
Se forma con el presente de BE (am, is, are), de acuerdo con el sujeto de
la oración + going to. En este caso la expresión going to no significa nada,
sólo indica que el verbo que viene se encuentra en futuro progresivo.
En el inglés coloquial y en algunas canciones se abrevian el verbo BE
y going to= gonna. Examples:
 Marcos says to Pamela: "Nothing's gonna change my love for you"
(Marcos dice a Pamela: "Nada cambiará mi amor por ti"
• Rocios' s gonna forget your offense anyway: (Rocío olvidará tu ofensa
de todos modos)
Como ya se dijo usamos el futuro con BE GOING TO cuando
expresamos lo que alguien ha organizado o planeado hacer una
actividad. Por ejemplo: encontrar a alguien, hacer un viaje, etc.
Examples:
 Peter is going to meet Ann tonight. (Peter se reunirá
con Ann esta noche)
 I´m going to leave for Europe next week. (Saldré para Europa la
próxima semana)
NEGATIVE FORM:
Para la forma negativa se escribe ... am not. .. .is not ... are not o las formas
abreviadas isn't , ... aren't. ..

Examples:
 I am not going to see Henry now. (No veré a Henry ahora)
 you are not going to solve this problem today (No resolverás este
problema hoy)
 You aren´t going to solve this problem today.
 My father isn't going to repair the car becausehe goes downtown.

2. (Mi padre no reparará el carro porque él va para el centro)
INTERROGATIVE FORM:
Para la forma interrogativa se ubican AM, IS, ARE al comienzo de la oración,
sin hacer ninguna otra modificación.
Examples:
 Betty is going to save some money at the bank?(Betty ahorrará algún
dinero en el banco)
Is Betty going to save some money at the bank?
Yes, she's going to save some money at the bank. (respuesta afirmativa
completa)
Yes, she is. (Respuesta afirmativa corta)
No, she isn't going to save some money at the bank.(Respuesta
negativa completa)
No, she isn't. (Respuesta negativa corta)
Those cars are going to get the first place in the race (Esos carros
obtendrán el primer puesto en la carrera)
 Are those cars going to get the first place in
the race? Yes, they are going to get the first
place in the race.
Yes, they are.
No, they are not going to get the first place in
the race.
No, they are not.
INFORMATION QUESTIONS:
Observa el orden de las palabras en las siguientes preguntas de información:
l. What are you going to do at that place? Qué harás en ese lugar?
I am going to obtain some important information for my work.
2.Where are you going to dry these wet clothes? Dónde secará usted esa ropa
húmeda?
I am going to dry it in this drying machine. (La secaré en esta máquina
secadora)
3.Why is Rosmery going to marry? Por qué se casará Rosmery?
Because she is in love. (porque ella está enamorada)
4.When is the Geography class going to start? (Cuándo comenzará la clase de
geografía?)
It is going to star at nine twenty- five am. (Comenzará a las nueve y
veinticinco' de la mañana)

I am going to visit four new places. (Visitaré cuatro
