2. Clinómetro, eclímetro y clisímetro
• Los aparatos utilizados para medir pendientes son
conocidos como CLINÓMETROS.
– Puede simplemente ser una aguja-péndulo suspendida
verticalmente sobre una escala graduada.
• Cuando la escala del clinómetro refleja grados se
conoce como ECLÍMETRO.
• Cuando la escala da directamente la lectura de las

tangentes de los ángulos correspondientes
expresada como % y con signo (-) ó (+) según su
posición sobre la horizontal, es un CLISÍMETRO.
3. Medición de pendientes
• Para el uso de un tipo de hipsómetros (los más extendidos) hemos de
situarnos a una distancia determinada del árbol D h. Esta distancia siempre
se ha de medir en proyección horizontal.
• Cuando Dh no se puede medir de una manera directa por la inclinación del
terreno, se mide la equivalente Dt sobre el terreno.

4. Construcción de tabla de pendientes
• Para facilitar el trabajo de campo, en los inventarios, suele utilizarse una
tabla que permita convertir las distancias en proyección horizontal más
utilizadas a distancia sobre el terreno, según la pendiente.

5. Hipsómetros
• El Hipsómetro es un tipo de CLISIMETRO con
una o varias escalas graduadas para que la
lectura se corresponda con el valor de la
altura.
• Pueden ser de tipo:
– Que obligan a situarse…

11. Hipsómetro SUUNTO
• Dispone de 2 escalas de medición de alturas desde 15 y 20 m y puede
llevar una tercera escala para medir pendientes en % clinómetro.
• Opcionalmente puede llevar un visor dióptrico
• Tiene la ventaja de ser ligero y de pequeño tamaño, aunque en un primer
momento tiene alguna dificultad el habituarse a coordinar las visuales
lanzadas con ambos ojos.

distintas maneras, preferentemente
por ultrasonidos y con reflector si no
son muy grandes y a través de láser
para distancias grandes.

17. Vertex IV y Vertex Laser
• Ambos aparatos son los más
utilizados actualmente como
dendrómetros. La diferencia de
precio del VERTEX IV con respecto
al VERTEX Láser, unos 1.800 €
frente a unos 2.400 €, un tamaño
más reducido y prestaciones
suficientes para las necesidades

• El relascopio de espejos fue desarrollado en 1.958

• A pesar de existir nuevos aparatos con mayores avances
tecnológicos, sigue teniendo gran interés.
• Sirve para medir diferentes parámetros, tanto del árbol
individual como de la masa:
• Árbol Individual:
– Medir distancia en proyección horizontal, con el auxilio de una mira de 2m.
– Altura total y hasta diferentes puntos del fuste.
– Medir diámetros de secciones del tronco del árbol a cualquier altura desde una distancia conocida.

22. Recomendaciones para la medición de alturas I
• Errores por la distancia:
– Colocarse a una distancia similar a la altura. La visual a 45◦ de inclinación es la
que tendrá menor error de lectura.
– Si esto no es posible, tener en cuenta que las visuales menos inclinadas son las
que tienen menor error.
• Errores de puntería:
– Para una misma escala, cuanta mayor sea la inclinación, mayor dificultad en
hacer la lectura con precisión.
– Siempre que sea posible, la altura se medirá desde la inclinación aguas arriba.

• Errores de la forma del árbol: claro concepto de altura, observar la copa
desde diferentes ángulos.
• Errores por su situación en la masa:
– Dificultad para ver la base del árbol: colocar un jalón y sumar su altura.
– Dificultad para distinguir el ápice. Mover el tronco y observar si se cimbrea.
• Errores por árboles inclinados. Medir perpendicularmente a la inclinación
y aplicar pitágoras.
