Great, thanks Robert and hello everyone. As Robert mentioned, my name is Kate Garvey and I lead product marketing for our Career Pages. This means that my (very fun!) job is to work with our Product team to make sure everything we build is creating value and solving problems for you, the end users of our products – so I’m especially excited to be here with you today to introduce the next generation of LinkedIn Career Pages, because I think and hope that’s exactly what we’ve done.
So again welcome, and let’s dive in. Here’s a quick look at today’s agenda:
I’m going to start by sharing a few insights from the customer & member research that shaped the new Career Pages design
Then I’ll spend a few minutes highlighting some of the most exciting features of the new design so you can keep them in mind as you’re exploring your new pages
This will provide a little context before I then turn it over to Eric on our product team
Eric will review the details of how we’re migrating you to the next gen design, and he’ll do an in-depth live demo of the new page experience
And as Robert mentioned, please feel free submit your questions in the chat box along the way and we’ll save plenty of time to answer them in Q&A at the end
First, we heard that you wanted it to be easy for the right talent to find and engage with your content. Today, the Careers tab can be easy to miss on your company page, and if you’ve set up multiple versions of the page for different audiences, it’s hard to tell who is seeing what.
Second, we heard that you want to be able to share authentic stories about what makes you a unique, great place to work. And while you want to be able to put your best foot forward and manage your overall employer brand, you’d also love to engage your employees more as brand ambassadors.
Third, we know that you ultimately care about hiring great talent. We heard that sharing personalized job recommendations was a big benefit of Career Pages, but that it’s about more than getting applicants – it’s about getting qualified applicants that are a good fit for your company.
And finally but certainly not least important, we heard that you need to be able to easily track the value you’re getting from your Career Pages on all of these fronts.
Once we learned what companies were looking to get from Career Pages, we turned to our users to understand what would bring them to visit your pages time and again.
From this research, we learned that ~8M users are visiting LinkedIn company pages every month, and most often they’re researching companies as potential places to work.
We found that far and away what they care about most is fit: do your culture and values resonate, are they excited about your mission and vision
And what this really boils down to is this: we work for companies, not jobs
Candidates are looking for those authentic stories you told us you want to share, to understand what you’re all about before they’re ready to hit apply
The great news is that the new Career Pages design will help you share your authentic story and helps candidates assess their fit with your company:
The net result is that candidates get valuable information and insight, and you get engaged, qualified candidates.
It’s still early, but the data already backs this up.
We have ~20 Charter customer pages live to members right now, and early results show a 60% increase in page views per visitor and 175% increase in job views.
Now, this is all great, but I’m sure you want to know how you can get the most out of the new LinkedIn Career Pages.
So let’s go back for a moment to those four main themes from our research, and look at how the new design addresses each of them.
First, reaching the right talent
To help you do this, we’ve completely redesigned LinkedIn company profiles overall with a navigation that makes it much easier for LinkedIn users to discover your content. Instead of one Careers tab, you’ll now have two new tabs – Jobs and Life – that grab visitors’ attention from the very start.
For those of you with multiple versions of the page targeted at different audiences, you’ll now have the option to make any or all of these views browsable in a dropdown menu. This provides richer layers of discovery, and lets visitors explore views tailored by job function, geo, and more.
For those in staffing please note that the Life tab is called -
Second, ability to tell an authentic story
In the new design, you’ll find a dedicated tab to showcase leaders from your company, rich media, employee-published articles, and more – all of which can be customized to specific audiences
And while the page looks packed with great content, our new Admin experience actually makes it easy to set up the page and makes content creation simple, as Eric will show you in a moment.
Third, driving quality applicants
Now you’ll also have a dedicated tab for Jobs, which offers every visitor personal job recommendations and information about your teams and company. The goal here is to give candidates the insight they need to self-assess fit before they apply, and get you the most qualified applicants.
And best of all, the page is fully automated so no work for you to set up
Finally, measuring key results
To help you do this, we’ll be expanding the analytics dashboard you can access right in the Admin Center.
This will show you real-time data on how your Career Pages are powering your recruiting efforts, with insight on who’s visiting your page, and actions they’re going on to take, like viewing and applying for your jobs.
This dashboard will be available later in October, so watch for it soon – and in the meantime, we’ll give you a preview during the live demo portion
On that note, let me now hand it over to Eric to talk about the migration over to the new design, and to bring these new features to life with a live in-product demo.
Our goal is to make the migration to the new page as seamless as possible. All of your existing content will be migrated to the new page.
The following content assets will migrate automatically:
The hero image.
The text, image or video, and the first two hyperlinks in the first custom module.
