instituciones: La Sociedad Geológica del Perú (SGP) y The Society of Economic
2. A INTERESTING CONGRESS AT LIMA
My name is Eduardo Fernando and study geological engineering at the
National University of San Agustin, my career is related to mineral deposits
(metallic and nonmetallic), hydrocarbons (oil and gas), geotechnical
engineering (soil mechanics and rock mechanics), hydrogeology
(groundwater search) and others, especially me attract metal deposits is to
say search, study and evaluation of gold, silver, copper, molybdenum, zinc,
lead, etc.. At the end of September was performed a joint congress of two
prestigious institutions: The Geological Society of Peru (SGP) and The Society
of Economic Geologists (SEG), the latter is the best institution in the world
related the issue of the deposits, was also the first time and last for many
years that these two institutions came together to make a joint conference,
obviously could not miss that event and it was so I traveled to Lima with high
hopes of learning more mineral deposits. On arrival at the congress met
many important people of many nationalities (Brazilian, Colombian, Chilean,
American, European, Australian, etc.) And everyone knew something
interesting, and conferences not disappointed and I really learned a lot from
them. I met Sir Sillitoe, the porphyry copper specialist, who has made many
publications and I was pleased to let you know my doubts, which were
cleared very easily. Return to Arequipa very happy and eager to continue
studying more and more.
