1. ARTICLE: A – AN
PLURAL OF NOUNS.
ARTÍCULO – PLURAL DE SUSTANTIVOS

2. • We use a /an before a noun when we talk about one person or thing.
Usamos a/ an delante de un sustantivo cuando hablamos de una persona
o cosa.

3. A and AN have the same meaning.
A y AN tienen el mismo significado.
A and AN are indefinite articles.
A y AN son artículos indefinidos.
The difference depends on the sound at the beginning of the next
word. When the next word starts with a consonant sound, we use A.
Examples: a book, a truck.
When the next word starts with a vowel sound, we use AN.
Examples: an insect, an umbrela
Su uso depende del sonido con el que comienza la palabra que sigue, si
es consonántico usamos el artículo A. Si la palabra que sigue comienza
con un sonido vocálico, usamos AN.

4. PLURAL OF NOUNS. Plural de sustantivos
• Para formar el plural de los sustantivos, agregamos –s.
car cars park parks
• Si el sustantivo termina en –s, -ch, -sh, -x, -z o -s agregamos –es
match matches box boxes
• Si el sustantivo termina en –f o –fe cambiamos por –ves.
leaf leaves knife knives

5. • Si el sustantivo termina en consonante + -y, cambia por –ies.
city cities story stories
• Algunos sustantivos tienen la misma forma singular que plural.
(sheep, fish, deer, etc)
• Los sustantivos irregulares no siguen las reglas anteriores.
man men woman women child children
person people foot feet tooth teeth
mouse mice
