                           DIDANOSINA
                 NA
Antivírico frente a VIH.
Inhibe la transcriptasa
inversa por competición
con el sustrato natural
timidina trifosfato y la
síntesis de ADN viral.
Se usa en combinación con otros
antirretrovirales, como tratamiento de
infectados por VIH.
Debe administrarse con el estómago vacío, es
decir, al menos una hora antes de las comidas, si
esto no fuera posible, puede tomarse con una
comida ligera. Las cápsulas duras pueden abrirse
cuidadosamente y mezclar el contenido con
alimento.
HIPERSENSIBILIDAD
• Monitorizar con antecedentes de pancreatitis
  o de neuropatía periférica
• Riesgo de acidosis láctica con
hepatomegalia, hepatitis u otros factores de
riesgo en especial mujeres obesas, e
  infectados con hepatitis C
• suspender si aparece hepatomegalia
  progresiva o elevación rápida de
  aminotransferasas
• Riesgo de:
  lipodistrofia, osteonecrosis, reconstitución
  inmune con inmunodeficiencia
  grave, disfunción mitocondrial en niños
Principalmente, riesgo de:
                        • Insuficiencia hepática

• Insuficiencia renal
En el Embarazo
Experiencia clínica
limitada, pero hay
observados casos de
anomalías congénitas y
abortos; estudios
preclínicos evidencian
paso a través de placenta.
No usar salvo necesidad.
En la Lactancia

Se recomienda que las
mujeres infectadas por
el VIH no amamanten
bajo ninguna
circunstancia, para
evitar la transmisión del
VIH.
Además…
Estudios en ratas lactantes demostraron que
estavudina se excreta en la leche materna. Por
esta razón debe recomendarse a las madres
interrumpir la lactancia antes de tomar
estavudina
