This document discusses blockchain technology, including what blockchain is, how it works, types of blockchain networks, applications of blockchain, advantages and disadvantages. Blockchain is a distributed digital ledger that records transactions in blocks that are linked using cryptography. It allows for transactions to be recorded and distributed without a central authority. Consensus algorithms like proof of work are used to validate transactions and add new blocks to the blockchain. Blockchain has applications in financial transactions, asset tracking, data storage and decentralized applications. Its advantages include transparency, security and cost reduction. However, it also faces challenges related to speed and implementation costs.

The document discusses incentive mechanisms for privacy-preserving Internet of Things (IoT). It addresses common misconceptions about privacy in IoT and discusses how incentive mechanisms can encourage user participation while balancing privacy and accuracy. Specifically, it notes that incentive mechanisms, like reverse auctions, are needed to attract crowdsensing users to contribute data. However, these mechanisms must also consider users' varying privacy levels and how coalitions can impact privacy. The document examines how user contributions, payoffs, and coalitions should be handled to optimize this accuracy-privacy tradeoff.
The document discusses spectrum sharing and outlines some key points:
1) Spectrum use needs to be more efficient as demand is growing from applications like mobile and PMSE.
2) There are different options for sharing spectrum, including licensed shared access and dynamic shared access.
3) Sharing could potentially occur between public and commercial sector users, but incentives need to be in place to encourage sharing.
4) Long term, as demand increases, there will likely be more spectrum sharing between various users through models like LSA and DSA. Issues around incentives, regulations and technical standards need to be addressed to facilitate increased sharing.
Blockchain has potential applications in the energy sector by lowering costs, enabling trustless transactions, and facilitating peer-to-peer energy trading. It could transform energy demand and supply systems through applications like smart contracts for billing, energy lending, and trading renewable energy certificates. While the technology is still young, major energy players are investing in blockchain projects that could decentralize energy distribution and make use of distributed storage and smart devices.
In this webinar Prof. Banafa will discuss in details the use of Blockchain in the following businesses: Insurance; Payments; Internet-of-Things (IoT); Supply Chain; Healthcare; Government; Identity; Advertising; Marketing; Banking.

Both Google Health and Microsoft HealthVault aimed to organize personal health information online but failed to gain widespread adoption. Key issues included lack of trust in Google and Microsoft's ability to keep data private and secure, failure to integrate data from various sources, and lack of telehealth services to sync online records with virtual consultations. This scattered health data risks duplicate tests, procedural costs, and information gaps that could impact medicine and society.
Blockchain and io t in carbon credit managementYuri Anisimov
Blockchain and IoT technologies can help address issues with existing carbon credit programs and enable a decentralized carbon market. A proposed solution is DAO IPCI, a decentralized autonomous organization built on blockchain that uses trusted sensors on the Robonomics IoT network to facilitate carbon auctions. This would provide transparency and reliability for carbon transactions while reducing costs. Token economics could be used to quantify social costs and liabilities within carbon transactions between buyers, sellers, offset providers, and other stakeholders.

According to British researchers, an information society is one where the creation, distribution, use, integration and manipulation of information is a significant part of the economy, politics and culture. The aim of an information society is to gain competitive advantage internationally through creative and productive use of information technology. The amount of information stored in the world grew exponentially from 1986 to 2007, as did the world's capacity to receive broadcast information, demonstrating the rapid growth of information in modern societies. However, the easy reproducibility of information in such societies also leads to challenges around controlling intellectual property.
This document discusses how blockchain technology can be used to tokenize real estate assets and overcome challenges in the real estate industry like fraud, high costs, and lack of liquidity. It outlines the process for onboarding property onto the blockchain to be fractionalized and traded as tokens. This allows for monetizing property management and creating new real estate investment opportunities through fractional ownership of assets. Regulatory approval and building an ecosystem of partners will be important to advance the adoption of this new model.
Hyperledger Fabric is a blockchain framework for enterprise use. It was designed from the ground up to address enterprise needs like confidentiality, scalability, and flexibility. Some key features include built-in privacy using channels, pluggable consensus algorithms, and multiple programming languages for writing smart contracts. It uses an endorsement and validation process to ensure transactions are valid before being added to the ledger. Membership services provide identity features and Hyperledger Composer helps speed application development.
Tokenization on Blockchain is a steady trend of 2018. It seems that everything is being tokenized on Blockchain from paintings, diamonds and company stocks to real estate. Thus, we took an asset, tokenized it and created its digital representation that lives on Blockchain. Blockchain guarantees that the ownership information is immutable.
Unfortunately, some problems need to be solved before we can successfully tokenize real-world assets on Blockchain. Main problem stems from the fact that so far, no country has a solid regulation for cryptocurrency. For example, what happens if a company that handles tokenization sells the property? They have no legal rights on the property and thus are not protected by the law. Another problem is that this system brings us back some sort of centralization. The whole idea of Blockchain and especially smart contracts is to create a distrustful environment.
Tokenization is a method that converts a digital value into a digital token. Tokenization can be used as a method that converts rights to an asset into a digital token. The tokenization system can be implemented local to the data that is tokenized or offloaded to cloud. Tokenization in cloud can provide a lower total cost of ownership by sharing resources implementation and administration. A high level of security can be achieved by separating the tokenization system into a container that can be run on-prem or isolated in a remote private cloud.
This session will discuss tokenization, blockchain and tokenization in blockchain. In this session I will describe what it means to tokenize an asset on Blockchain and how it applies to physical assets.

Abstract. Blockchain technology enables the formation of a distributed record of a digital event in decentralized manner where data and related transactions are not under the control of any third party. This technology was early used for value transfer but now it has vast range of applications in different fields such as healthcare, banking, internet of things and many others. In the field of education, it also provides numerous opportunities for decentralized management of records in educational institutions in an interoperability manner. The main objective of this research is to highlight the existing issues related to the educational institutes and to find suitable blockchain features that could resolve them. We have adopted a systematic literature review approach for the identification and the extraction of relevant information from the shortlisted studies. This study describes existing issues in three aspects physical, digital and financial. The results of the analysis shows that the manipulation risk, difficulty in verification and exchanging record between institutions are the major issues faced by the educational institutions. This study, then explores blockchain features including decentralization, traceability and consensus mechanism that can be used to address the issues related to the educational institution. Finally, due to unique and underlying technology, it has still some technical challenges and boundaries along with immutability feature, disclosure of personal privacy and scalability issue also discussed in this study.
