Hace 88 años nació Roy Fox Lichtenstein, pintor, artista gráfico y escultor insigne del Pop Art. Su serie más reconocida consistió en una serie de piezas tomadas de cómics, presentadas en grandes formatos sobre fondo blanco y con un retícula de puntos alineados.
Sus primeras obras eran de estilo expresionista abstracto, pero después de 1957 comenzó a experimentar con piezas libremente interpretadas y mezcladas con imágenes sacadas de cuadros del Viejo Oeste de otro artista estadounidense, Frederic Remington. En los sesenta se dedicó a producir arte mediante imágenes comerciales de producción masiva como Reflections on blonde (1989), Bedroom Unique State (1990), Bedroom at Arles (1992) y Art Critic (1996) las cuales reflejan la evolución de un artista con influencia de Henri Matisse y Pablo Picasso.
Ellora es célebre por su arquitectura rupestre, con monasterios y templos budistas (grupo A : grutas 1 a 12 que datan del aproximadamente el año 500 a aproximadamente el 650), hinduistas (grupo B : grutas 13 a 31 establecidas entre los siglos VII y VIII) y jainas (grupo C : construidos entre los siglos VIII y XIII).

la fachada de este templo presenta una sobresaliente mezcla de habilidad artesanal e ingenuidad indígena que nos sorprende con la belleza de su conjunto.
Está dispuesta como un gigantesco retablo de argamasa (mezcla de cal, arena y agua). Descubrirlos supone una minuciosa observación.
Virtuosos de la escultura en mármol, del s. xviii y xix, nos han dejado un número muy limitado de estas maravillas. alegorías, representaciones religiosas, retratos privados. todos ellos imposibles de explicar.

7. Jasper Johns wanted us to look at their details and see them in a new way, as art! So, he made paintings of them.

10. Jasper said that we see flags, maps, and numbers and letters all the time, but we never really think about them. He decided he was going to use them in his paintings so that people could enjoy their shapes.
11. That’s just what he did. Everyday objects, especially things that are flat, like numbers and flags, became his subjects .

19. Entre 1958 y 1960, realiza una importantísima serie de dibujos sobre El infierno de Dante, que le lleva a obtener el Gran Premio de la Biennale di Venezia en 1964.
37. Gr. 5 Grade 5 “ In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes.” In 1957, Warhol had plastic surgery to change the shape of his nose. He also lost most of his hair by the time he was 25. He wore wigs for the rest of his life.
38. Gr. 5 Andy began his career as a commercial artist . His drawings appeared in many fashion magazines. Warhol made a lot of money. But he still dressed in torn, sloppy clothes. His friends called him, “Raggedy Andy.”
39. Gr. 5 Grade 5 Many commercial artists admired Warhol’s work. But, many in the fine arts did not consider him to be a real artist. This upset Warhol. He wanted people to think of him as a real artist and not just a magazine illustrator. So, Warhol began painting ordinary objects and display them in museums. Here he painted a character from an old cartoon.
40. Gr. 5 Grade 5 This style of art was called Pop Art because the subjects for his work came from popular culture. Repetition: Warhol liked to paint many pictures of the same thing. In 1962 a famous actress named Marilyn Monroe died. That same year he made a series of pictures of her
41. Gr. 5 Grade 5 Later that year, a friend suggested Warhol paint something that was so common, people didn’t see it as art. Warhol loved to eat soup. So he decided to paint cans of Campbell’s Soup. There were many flavors of Campbell’s Soup at that time. Warhol bought all the different kinds. Then he spent hours copying the cans on a white background. He painted the cans 32 times on one canvas! Each can was slightly different from the next.
42. Gr. 5 Grade 5 Factory-made art: By specializing in printing,Warhol could make multiple copies of his pictures. He didn’t hold with the old idea that each work of art should be one of a kind, individually crafted by the artist. He even named his studio “The Factory,” to encourage people to compare his art to manufacturing.
43. Gr. 5 Grade 5 Warhol was fascinated by famous faces and carefully created a celebrity image of his own, wearing a wild white wig to make sure he stood out from other people.
