11. UNA BOLSA MULTIMERCADO:
MÁS DESARROLLO PARA CHILE
A Multi-Market Exchange: More Development for Chile
Over the past decade Santiago Stock Exchange (SSE) has
expanded its endeavors, and in so doing has gone from
a strictly local player to being a focal point of interest
for global investors. It has also become a strategic ally
for different stock markets in the region, thus
contributing to the growth of the Chilean capital mar-
ket and the strengthening of our economy.
With its visionary thinking, SSE has sought ways to
bring dynamism to the Chilean capital market through
constant innovation and the ongoing introduction of
new products and services. Its efforts have resulted in
the delivery of a wide variety of financial instruments
to domestic and foreign investors.
Nowadays, SSE has different markets, which together
have a daily trading volume of over US$ 2 billion in
equities, fixed income securities, money market instru-
ments, fund shares, and foreign stocks. Furthermore,
the Exchange offers comprehensive services to its custo-
mers and gives companies the opportunity to diversify
their funding sources in a trustworthy, transparent,
and solid environment.
To this end, SSE has prioritized the construction and
development of a robust market and has made signifi-
cant progress in pursuit and support of this goal.
One noteworthy achievement is the creation of a
Sustainability Index, an initiative launched in October
2013 with a tender to develop a study of the index’s fea-
sibility. In February of this year the process was
awarded to MSCI, specialist in creating stock indices,
and with vast experience in developing international
methodologies.
Through this Sustainability Index, SSE expects to
develop and encourage the use of sustainable processes
among its locally listed companies, raise the profile of
companies meeting international standards in this
area, provide more information to investors, and
establish a long-term environment conducive to socially
responsible investing that is in tune with increasingly
stringent social demands, thereby contributing to the
creation of increased corporate value.
On another front, the SSE recently concluded a deal

with TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV), a subsidiary of TMX
Group Limited of Canada, for the creation of a Venture
Capital segment. This entity will operate as the SSE,
Venture. The agreement will leverage TSXV’s specialized
experience in facilitating the raising of capital for early
development stage companies and will offer compa-
nies listed on TSXV the opportunity to be dual-listed in
the new market. The initiative aims to be operative
during the first half of 2015 and is an important step in
innovation and leadership. It creates a new segment
within the Exchange that will open and expand new
capital markets for developing companies by providing
funding opportunities for projects seeking initial equity
capital on the Exchange.
Continuing with our international partnerships and
the particular importance that has been given to inte-
gration issues, we expect that 2014 will witness the
incorporation of Mexico to the Integrated Latin
American Market (MILA in Spanish). To this end, during
the first quarter of the year the Mexican Stock
Exchange and Indeval have held a series of meetings
with each of the MILA member exchanges and securi-
ties depositories with the goal to start defining a joint
work plan.
Mexico’s entry to MILA will bring in a significant num-
ber of companies that trade on Mexican Stock
Exchange. These companies are primarily in the tele-
communications and retail areas, and will be a good
complement to sectors in the different countries; their

presence will also serve to diversify risk. In addition, this
integration will lift MILA to second place in regional
trading volume, further positioning it as an attractive
Latin American investment hub for the international
financial community.
Given this positive development, MILA faces new
challenges in continuing to establish itself in coming
years. These include working on aligning market rules,
clearing and settlement, custody issues, and the incorpo-
ration of new types of instruments such as investment
fund quotas and ETFs, while furthering its promotion
and dissemination efforts to foreign investors to
increase its regional presence.
Finally, to continue delivering to its customers more ser-
vices, which are better and more innovative, SSE is
working jointly with local market regulators on the
implementation of a stock derivatives market. The pro-
ject is in its final stages of development pending appro-
val of the General Regulations for SSE’s Futures Market
by the Superintendency of Securities and Insurance.
This initiative, which opens new investment opportuni-
ties, has been developed with the participation and
counsel of BM&FBovespa – one of the leading derivati-
ves exchanges in the world – and CCLV, to strengthen
and promote the development of the derivatives mar-
ket in Chile.

second phase. This market will help improve the

When it comes to connectivity,

simplify the process for the removal and release of
guarantees, and automate processes, controls, and

36. METODOLOGÍA DE CÁLCULO
DE LOS ÍNDICES DE LA BOLSA
DE COMERCIO DE SANTIAGO
Methodology used in calculating
The Santiago Stock Exchange’s Indexes
Índices Patrimoniales contemplan ajustes frente a variaciones
The methodology to calculate the Santiago Stock Exchange
(SSE) indexes is based on free-float adjusted market capitaliza-
tion, i.e. each company contributes to an index according to its
market capitalization as a function of the shares readily
available to be traded in the market.
The IPSA, IGPA, INTER-10, the Sector and Cap Weighted indexes
are adjustable based on fluctuations in capital and therefore
are reflective of total return indexes. However a parallel
calculation for each index is carried out to isolate the effect of
dividends on the profitability of the instrument, so each index
has a “total return” and “return- without-dividend” value.
All of the indexes on the SSE, i.e. IPSA, IGPA, INTER-10, the Sector
and Cap-Weighted indexes, are calculated using the same
methodology, which makes them comparable not only among
themselves, but with the major international indexes.
In order to maintain continuity and market representativeness
of its indexes, the SSE has decided to implement some changes
in the methodology used to calculate and select its 2015 stock
indexes.
The major improvements to be implemented relate to the
period of the annual review of the portfolios that make up the
indexes, the selection criteria, and more specific policies for the
treatment of corporate events.
Regarding the selection criteria, the main change is that the
modifications to the index portfolios will be communicated to
themarket onemonthprior to theirupdatingandreweighting.
This will give more time to investors who follow the indexes to
adjust their portfolios accordingly.
Additionally,in the case of the IPSA a continuity criterion will be
applied to the companies that make up the index to avoid
potentially significant changes in the makeup of the portfolio
from one year to the next. This change will be made in
accordance with international standards that modify the
liquidity criterion used for determining inclusion of a company
in an index. These criteria also apply to the INTER-10 index.
In the case of the Sector and Equity Indexes, the liquidity criteria
used for a company’s inclusion in the index is standardized and
the treatment of the different series of stocks in the portfolios is
explicitly detailed.
Furthermore, within the policies defining the treatment of
corporate events, modifications are made to the so called “paid
issuance”event,andspecificationsandexamplesofhow theSSE

IPSA – SELECTIVE STOCK PRICE INDEX
The IPSA is an index of the 40 highest trading-value stocks on
the SSE, calculated quarterly, whose market capitalization is
over U.S. $200,000,000 and whose free float percentage is not
under 5%. The annual $ value traded (MTPA in Spanish) is
calculated according to the following formula:
MTPA = 0.45 x MT4 + 0.30 x MT3 + 0.15 x MT2 + 0.10 x MT1
Where:
MT4 =$ amount traded last quarter
MT3 =$ amount traded quarter before last
MT2 =$ amount traded 3 quarters ago
MT1 =total $ amount traded in the past 3 quarters
Incalculatingthe$amount tradedineachquarter,onlynormal
cash settlement trades on the Telepregón HT system are
included, excluding stock transactions that are not entitled to
capital gains (ticker symbol-SD).
In cases where the same issuer has more than one series that
merits inclusion, only the series with the highest $ value traded
is considered.
Shares that arenot eligible to be traded by AFPs[pension funds]
are excluded from the IPSA index. These include: pension fund
administrators, insurance companies, third party fund
managers, and sports, educational and charitable associations
which are exempt from reporting requirements, as specified in
the provisions of Article 3 of Law Nº 18.045 (subsection one of

inclusion in the index is greater than or equal to 5%, and
whose free-float ratio is greater than or equal to 5%.
The index excludes those companies whose shares are
purchased primarily in order to have access and use of the
corporate facilities, as is the case with: social clubs, sports clubs
or schools,among others.
In calculating the $ amount traded annually, only normal cash
settlement trades on the Telepregón HT system are included,
excluding stock transactions that are not entitled to capital
gains (ticker symbol-SD).
INTER-10 INDEX
The INTER-10 index is composed of the 10 IPSA companies that
tradeADRs,and have thehighest $ trading valueon theSSE,cal-
culatedaccordingtothemethodologyoutlinedfortheIPSA,and
which have a 5% or greater free-float factor.
As of 2008, the INTER-10 index was indexed to the closing price
of the IPSA index on the last trading day of 2007, which was
3,051.83 points, and will be maintained over time.
SECTOR INDEXES
On January 2, 2007 the SSE introduced the new Sector indexes,
which were designed to become highly representative and
relevant benchmarks for the daily and historical analysis of the
main component sectors of the Chilean stock market.
These indexes and their component members are primarily
based on the sectors already used by brokerage research
departments and other institutions that follow and analyze
Chileanshares.Concurrently,theseclassificationswereanalyzed
using the international criteria proposed by Morgan Stanley
Capital International (MSCI) in presenting Sector Indexes to
foreign investors.
Please note that as of January 2, 2014, the SSE stopped
calculating a value for the Salmon Sector Index because only
two corporations met the selection criteria at the time of
portfolio review.
The Sector Indexes that are calculated by the SSE in 2014 are:
Banking, Commodities, Construction & Real Estate, Consumer,
Industrial,Retail and Utilities.

Banca, Commodities, Constructoras e Inmobiliarias, Consumo,
Industrial,Retail y Utilities.
porcentajedecapitalizaciónacumuladamayora70%ymenoro
igual a 90%.
and IGPA Small Capitalization Indexes are determined by using
the following criteria:
• The portfolio composition of the IGPA Large, IGPA Mid and
IGPA Small indexes is determined by each company’s relative
percentage share of a subset of total IGPA assets, or Asset
Portfolio. IGPA member companies that have a market
presence greater than or equal to 25% make up this Asset
Portfolio.
•The member corporations are then sorted,in decreasing order,
by market capitalization (from highest to lowest), and a
cumulative capitalization percentage is calculated for each.
Finally, the constituent portfolio of each Market Cap Weighted
Index is determined based on the cumulative capitalization
percentage.
The IGPA Large Index is composed of companies with a
cumulative capitalization between 0% and 70%, i.e. together
these companies account for 70% of the market cap of the
CapitalizationWeighted Index.
The IGPA Mid Index contains those companies with a
cumulative capitalization greater than 70% and less than or
equal to 90% of the whole. In other words, it includes all
companies that together account for 90% of the market cap of
the Capitalization Weighted Index, and which have not been
previously included in the IGPA Large Index.
The IGPA Small Index contains the remaining companies that
are not part of either of the previous two indexes, and which
when added to them accounts for 100% of the cumulative
market cap of the CapitalizationWeighted Indexes.
Note that in the case of corporations that have serial shares
issued, only the most liquid series is considered.

42. LOS ÍNDICES DE LA BOLSA DE
COMERCIO DE SANTIAGO
Indexes of the Santiago Stock Exchange
www.bolsadesantiago.com
For years the indexes of the Santiago Stock Exchange
(SSE) have been the main performance indicators for the
Chilean stock market. In addition to the traditional and
long-established IPSA, IGPA and Inter-10, the Sector
Indexes were added in 2007, and the Cap-Weighted
Indexes in 2008. The indexes have been designed using
internationally recognized rules and standards for cal-
culations to take into account the Free Float Market
Capitalization Weight of the index members, which
means that the relative weight of each company within
the index is representative of the actual availability of
that company’s shares in the market.
ACCESSING SANTIAGO STOCK
EXCHANGE INDEXES INFORMATION
Intraday and historical data for the main, sector and
cap weighted indexes, can be accessed on the SSE’s
SEBRA system.
Additionally, all of the index data is disseminated in real
time on the web site and published in the Daily Bulletin
and the Monthly Bulletin of the SSE. The composition of
each index, the selection criteria and methodology used
are all available on the SSE’s SEBRA terminals and on the
website: www.bolsadesantiago.com

MARKET CAPITALIZATION
WEIGHTED INDEXES
In 2008 the Santiago Stock Exchange introduced the
following market capitalization weighted indexes:
IGPA Large, IGPA Mid and IGPA Small, which were
constructed using the following criteria:
• The IGPA Large Index is composed of companies
with a cumulative capitalization between 0% and
70%, i.e. together these companies account for 70% of
the market cap of the Capitalization Weighted Index.
• The IGPA Mid Index contains those companies with
a cumulative capitalization greater than 70% and
less than or equal to 90%. In other words, it includes
all companies that together account for 90% of the
market cap of the Capitalization Weighted Index, and
which have not been previously included in the IGPA
Large Index.
• The IGPA Small Index contains the remaining
companies that are not part of either of the prior two
indexes, and which when added to them accounts for
100% of the cumulative market cap of the
Capitalization Weighted Indexes.

50. SECTO-
RIALES
Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI),acercando
los Índices Sectoriales a los inversionistas extranjeros.
SECTOR INDEXES
Due to the need to create benchmarks for those econo-
mic sectors with a strong presence in the Chilean stock
market, the SSE created the Sector Indexes in 2007. The
sectors chosen and the stocks listed in each are based
on sector distributions used by brokerage research
departments and other entities that monitor and
analyze Chilean stocks. Concurrently, these classifica-
tions were analyzed using the international criteria
proposed by Morgan Stanley Capital International
(MSCI) in presenting Sector Indexes to foreign investors.
