Formulation and Manufacturing Process of Alkyd Resin, Amino Resin, Phenolic R...Ajjay Kumar Gupta
In polymer chemistry and materials science, resin is a "solid or highly viscous substance," which are typically convertible into polymers. Such viscous substances can be plant-derived or synthetic in origin. They are often mixtures of organic compounds. Many plants, particularly woody plants produce resin in response to injury. The resin acts as a bandage protecting the plant from invading insects and pathogens.

Synthetic resins are materials with a property of interest that is similar to natural plant resins: they are viscous liquids that are capable of hardening permanently. Otherwise, chemically they are very different from the various resinous compounds secreted by plants. Synthetic resins comprise a large class of synthetic products that have some of the physical properties of natural resins but are different chemically. Synthetic resins are not clearly differentiated from plastics.

Formula and Manufacture of Polishes (Floor Polish, Oil Polish, Metal Polish, ...Ajjay Kumar Gupta
Polishing is the process of creating a smooth and shiny surface by rubbing it or using a chemical action, leaving a surface with a significant specular reflection (still limited by the index of refraction of the material according to the Fresnel equations.) In some materials (such as metals, glasses, black or transparent stones) polishing is also able to reduce diffuse reflection to minimal values. When an unpolished surface is magnified thousands of times, it usually looks like mountains and valleys. By repeated abrasion, those "mountains" are worn down until they are flat or just small "hills." The process of polishing with abrasives starts with coarse ones and graduates to fine ones.

proteger.
4
5. TIPOS DE RESINAS UTILIZADAS EN
NUESTRO SECTOR DE LOS
RECUBRIMIENTOS
Clasificación por familias:
- Alquídicas
- Poliéster Saturado
- Acrílicas
- Resinas Nitrogenadas (Urea, melamina, benzoguanamina)
- Poliéster insaturado
5
7. Definición:
Son poliésteres modificados con aceite
Dos tipos principales de reacción:
-Esterificación (condensación)
-Transesterificación

10. ALQUIDICAS CORTAS (<45%)
Amplias aplicaciones (acabado automóvil, industria en general)
Secado horno (baja temperatura) o secado aire (forzado)
mantenimiento industrial
caleo
12
14. ALQUIDICAS LARGAS (>60%)
Llevan aceites secantes o semisecantes (linaza, soja, girasol,
tall-oil)
18. Dos vías de uso principales en pinturas:
Con melamina-benzoguanamina en
sistemas horno
Con isocianatos para dos componentes
Mezcla de las dos anteriores
18
21. Se obtienen por polimerización de adición de
monómeros acrílicos
Se pueden dividir en dos grandes grupos:
Acrílicas base agua
Acrílicas base disolvente

Son usadas con isocianatos para la obtención
de poliuretanos no amarilleantes
El polímero resultante es extremadamente
resistente a la degradación química (ácidos,
álcalis, gasolinas y detergentes)
Los recubrimientos basados en esta
tecnología son los más adecuados para
ambientes agresivos medioambientales y en
general para aplicaciones al exterior
23
24. Los parámetros a tener en cuenta son:

Buena Retención de Color y Brillo
No amarillean
Buen balance dureza-flexibilidad
25
27. TERMOENDURECIBLES

adherencia.
55
56. Los pigmentos anticorrosivos inhiben el
proceso de la corrosión de dos formas:
Química (pigmentos activos).
Físicamente (pigmentos barrera).
56
57. ELEMENTOS A TENER EN CUENTA PARA
PREPARAR UN RECUBRIMIENTO
ANTICORROSIVO:
•
•
•
•
•
•
57
58

60. Uso de recubrimientos para proteger el
metal contra la corrosión.
Existen 4 mecanismos de protección del metal mediante
recubrimientos:
Efecto Barrera
Efecto Pigmento Barrera
Pigmentos Basados en Zn
Vehículo adecuado:
Epoxi (epoxi/poliamida)
Poliuretano (acrílica/isocianato)
Sintético(alquídica modif.con fenólica)
60
61. EFECTO BARRERA
ESCUDO FÍSICO-PROTECTOR ENTRE
METAL Y EL MEDIO
EJEMPLOS:
PIGMENTOS ORGÁNICOS
PRIMER
PIGMENTOS METÁLICOS
61
62. EFECTO PIGMENTO-BARRERA
LIMITACIÓN DE LA PERMEABILIDAD
DIFICULTAN EL CAMINO A LA HUMEDAD
PARA LLEGAR AL SUSTRATO
IMPORTANTE COMPATIBILIDAD PIGMENTORESINA
EJEMPLOS:
MICA
MEZCLA OXIDOS DE FE
VIRUTAS DE ALUMINIO, BRONCE O ACERO
62
63. PIGMENTOS BASADOS EN Zn
Zn es por antonomasia el elemento usado
en anticorrosión
Actúa como cátodo en el proceso de
corrosión
La duración de su eficacia depende del
grosor de la capa aplicada entre otros
63
permeabilidad
Elección de la resina correcta
Aditivos que mejoren tiempo de secado
Aditivos que mejoren adhesión
