2. The imperfect tense
The imperfect tense is used:
to talk about what you habitually did or used to do
Todos los días caminaba a la escuela.
to tell the time in the past
Cenábamos a las ocho de la noche.
to describe emotional or physical conditions in the
past
Nos sentíamos muy tristes.
to describe ongoing weather conditions in the past
Llovía mucho en Paraguay en esa época.
to tell someone’s age in the past
Ella tenía quince años entonces.
4. The IMPERFECT TENSE
There are only three IRREGULAR verbs in the
imperfect tense:
The imperfect of haber is
había.
5. Cuando era niño(a)
Forma oraciones con el imperfecto y adverbios como
nunca, a veces, frecuentemente, siempre, etc.
1. (levantarse) antes de las siete
2. (desayunar) mientras (ver) la televisión
3. (ir) en autobús a la escuela
4. (ser) travieso(a) (mischievous)
5. (almorzar) en la cafetería de mi escuela
6. (tomar) sopa de pollo cuando (enfermarse)
