3. Datums,coordinate systems, and map projections
In a topographic study, datums help make a real representation, in a geographic coordinate
system and in this sense make a projection of the maps, as exact as possible (AristaSur, 2018);
however, such processes are applicable respecting the regulations of each country; but having
some possible global principles for an interpretation and study.
Today horizontal and vertical datums are taken in three dimensions thanks to the arrival of
spatial geodetic positioning systems such as GPS, which in the past was very difficult, since
both the verticals and the horizontals were taken independently (El Rabbany, 2002, pág. 48);
Without a doubt, it is a great achievement for Cartography, Topography, Geology and all
related knowledge whose objective is to collect pertinent information, which is completed by
locating them in a coordinate system and why not, making a projection on sophisticated
maps.
The coordinate system gives precise three-dimensional locations from graphs with three axes
(X, Y y Z) (El Rabbany, 2002, pág. 49); which gives a precision of geographical points, to
know precisely what is related to the places to study; the knowledge of the meridians and
parallels make it even easier to locate the respective coordinates.
As has been shown, there is a functional and procedural correlation between the three
concepts, the order of the title highlights the present stages, it is necessary to synthetically
distinguish that first a data collection is given, second a location of points or coordinates and
thirdly with such data and locative information it is time to translate them into respective
maps.
Therefore, the transition from geodata in two dimensions to three dimensions is a challenge
today to avoid being in the topographic or geological rearguard; the social sciences are
4. inaccurate and for this reason they must be permanently updated, that does not mean that
previous studies should be discarded; but rather that they serve as a starting point to give way
to the new.
Shaping the surface of the earth has degrees of perfection, it has its strengths and weaknesses,
that is a map projection or in more sophisticated words it is a cartographic projection which
is simultaneously a coordinate projection (acolita, 2018);
It is a very meticulous and demanding study that must be done to avoid the margin of error
when capturing or elaborating maps as real as possible.
Freehand maps traced either on walls or available surfaces, in ancient times it was an
expression of the geographical worldview of the time, which should not be disregarded as it
was a starting point or guide to give continuity in the world of the printing and then in the
implementation of computing.
The universal standards of uniformity in terms of data collection, is something that requires
a lot of creativity and innovation, to make studies more accessible and accurate, the academic
world needs tools to accurately publicize all geographical aspects; Electronic devices
increasingly facilitate the display of a variety of attractive audiovisual material.
Definitely, more and more, cartography surprises humanity, since nothing is completely done
or complete, scholars in the field reveal more and more diverse and divergent projections of
the globe; the planet earth as a whole is complex, the topographic geology looks short and
has struggled to reach inaccessible and inhospitable places; the achievement of artificial
satellites is something very expensive and from space it reflects the hegemonic competitions
between nations; The invented border limits are not an obstacle for science to show humanity
the essential reality of the common house called Earth.

𝑍𝑏𝑐 = 𝛽 + 𝑍𝑎𝑏 (−180°) 𝑠𝑖 𝑍𝑎𝑏 > 180
𝑍𝑏𝑐 = 𝛽 + 𝑍𝑎𝑏 (+180°) 𝑠𝑖 𝑍𝑎𝑏 < 180

𝑃𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝐵 = (4200 + 40.5),(3200 + 29.4)
𝑃𝑢𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝐵 = (4240.5y − 3229.4x)
