Is the leading cause of cancer
death in men and the second
leading cause of cancer in women
worldwide
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts
for more than 85% of all lung cancer cases.
However, approximately 70% of patients with
lung cancer present with locally advanced or
metastatic disease at the time of diagnosis

mesenchymal epithelium that plays an
important role in cancer metastasis and
causes inhibition of the MMP 2 promoter
by preventing cancer invasion
transitional mesenchymal epithelium:
these are multipotent stromal cells
that can differentiate into a variety of
cell types.
EMT is essential for numerous
developmental processes including
mesoderm formation and neural tube
formation. EMT has also been shown to
occur in wound healing, in organ
fibrosis and in the initiation of
metastasis in cancer progression.

The study aimed to further investigate how
upregulation of KLF4 affects NSCLC metastasis.

Previous studies have demonstrated that activated JNK
promotes the invasion and metastasis of tumors by
promoting the development of EMT .
(Fadous-Khalife et al.,
2016).
KLF4, a notable transcription factor, has dual functions in
transcriptional activation and suppression. Multiple
researches showed that KLF4 was downregulated in colon
cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, bladder cancer, but
upregulated in breast cancer. Our data showed that the
expression of KLF4 was decreased in NSCLC tissues.
(Shi et al., 2014). discovered that a deficiency of KLF4 in mouse bone marrow
decreased the incidence of lung metastasis

14. CONCLUSIONS
1. By increasing the presence of KLF4 transcription factor, it could be used in
patients with lung cancer, seeking to prevent metastases in different tissues by
inhibiting the proliferation of transitional mesenchymal epithelium.
2. At the overexposure to KLF4, the migration of cells is reduced, since the
signaling pathway JNK/MET is inhibited, which would prevent the tumor from
expanding, can be used for patients in which the pathology is diagnosed very
late, allowing the medical staff to act.
