The history of Thailand begins with the migration of the Thais in what is now known as Thailand during the first millennium.
Prior to this, there had been civilization in the Bronze Age and Iron Age.
The Thais established their own kingdoms, more lasting way into the kingdom of Ayutthaya.
The European colonial powers threatened to Thailand in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, but Thailand survived as the only state in Southeast Asia that escaped being colonized.
After the end of the Thai absolute monarchy in 1932, Thailand was almost six years under almost permanent military rule before the establishment of a democratic system.
Its independence from the Ottoman Empire was declared on May 9, 1877 and was internationally recognized the following year. At the end of World War I, Transylvania, Bukovina and Bessarabia were annexed by the Kingdom of Romania.
The History of Romania spans three millennia, from the earliest Paleolithic cultures of ancient pre-Dacia until the present Republic of Romania.
Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of the Bay Manila
It is a sovereign island country located in Southeast Asia in the Pacific Ocean. Nigerian self-government requests after World War II led to a series of ephemeral constitutions. The first, in 1945, established provincial legislatures with limited participation of the natives in the government. Through continuous constitutional changes to Nigeria were granted a federal type of government and the provinces were consolidated into three federal states (East, West and North), each with a different level of autonomy. In 1954 Nigeria became a federation and each region given the option to assume the condition of self-government established certain safeguards to the unity of the Federation. In 1957 he was granted autonomy to the regions East and West and the North in 1959.
Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country whose history has been strongly influenced by its strategic geographical position made it a focal point for trade and international influences . To the west the Hindu India, the Islamic Middle East and Christian Europe , while China and Japan to the northeast were important influences came from the hand of trade routes across the region. The Malaysian history is also intertwined with that of its neighbors , Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Brunei and Thailand. These product trade and exogenous influences cultures brought great wealth and diversity to Malaysia , although they were also vectors of domination and colonialism.
Arab traders began frequenting the Kenya coast to the first century AD Kenya's proximity to the coast of the Arabian peninsula favored the establishment of permanent settlements. Between I and V century some Greek merchants of Egypt participated in trade with Kenya. Around 500 AD, some merchants from the Persian Gulf, southern India and Indonesia began to trade with East Africa. This trade led to the establishment of trading posts. Over time these enclaves, they became personal Arab city states along the coast. By the eighth century, these cities were governed by rulers who had converted to Islam.
Muslim traders had little incentive to penetrate beyond the sea in Africa, since the goods in which they were interested as gold from the mines of Zimbabwe, ivory, slaves, tortoise shells, and the rhino horns were collected by the local people of the interior, and was sold to coastal traders in seasonal markets.
Indonesia's history is the history of the territory now covers the Republic of Indonesia, who was born on August 17, 1945 with the proclamation of the independence of the Dutch East Indies by Sukarno and Muhammad Hatta.
Indonesia is a republic with a legislature and a president elected by universal suffrage and the government is headquartered in the city of Jakarta, the capital. Despite being an archipelago
In early 1946 , a British mission failed in the attempt to find common ground between the two sides , and the country was found closer to civil war. A " day of direct action " , organized by the Muslim League in August 1946 , led to the killing of Hindus in Calcutta and subsequent retaliation against Muslims. In February 1947 the restless British government took the momentous decision to grant independence in June 1948 . Meanwhile , Viceroy Lord Archibald Wavell was replaced by Lord Louis Mountbatten . The new viceroy in vain urged rival factions to accept a united India. In the end the decision to split the country, with Gandhi as the only unconditional opponent took . Faced with escalating civil violence , Mountbatten hastily decided to advance the independence August 15, 1947 .The division into Hindu and Muslim territories was an extremely difficult task , and the line was almost impossible to trace . Some areas were clear , but others had mixed populations and communities were isolated in areas predominantly populated by other religions. In addition , the two regions with an overwhelming Muslim majority were at opposite ends of the country and , therefore , inevitably Pakistan would have an eastern half and a western separated by a hostile India. The instability of this agreement was clear , but it took 25 years before the division was consummated and East Pakistan became Bangladesh. An independent British referee received the odious custom of drawing the borders , well aware that their effects would be catastrophic for a huge number of people. Decisions were filled with impossible dilemmas. Calcutta , with its Hindu majority , port facilities and jute mills , was separated from East Bengal , which had a Muslim majority , and jute production scale , but lacking factories and port facilities.
What's unique geographical position of Afghanistan, located between the Indian peninsula , the Iranian plateau and Central Asia , its history, its art and archeology have always been sensitive to the influence of neighboring regions. From the Upper Paleolithic , Neolithic and Bronze Age , Afghanistan has always been a corridor for trade between the Caspian culture, Bactrian and Indian . Between 1600 and 1000 BC, the country was inhabited by people of Indo-European origin. The main economic activities were, until the twentieth century , grazing and cultivation of opium.
Afghanistan's history really begins in the sixth century BC with the Achaemenid conquest. In the fourth century , the country enters a new phase with the expedition of Alexander the Great . The foundation of the " Alejandrías " Alejandro name given by a large number of cities in its path, six of which still exist in modern Afghanistan , as well as the presence of Greek and Macedonian colonists , led to the creation of the kingdom Greco- Bactrian towards 250 BC. This kingdom was destroyed in the second century BC Scythian origin by invaders from the north .
Thus, in the course of its history , Afghanistan passed through the hands of Greeks, Turks Sassanids , Arabs, Mongols, Persians, and others; Arab colonization brought there Islam is now the religion of 90 % of the population.
Other people also settled in Afghanistan , seeking grazing lands : North Uzbeks and Tajiks , Pushtuns , and numerically smaller groups like Hazaras and Ishmaelites . Independent kingdom since the eighteenth century , came to dominate militarily for some time to Iran and India and could withstand two wars against the British Empire in the late nineteenth century, thanks to its difficult terrain and warrior tradition of its inhabitants.
Hungary has always been part of the European continent . After the defeat of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy (1867-1918) at the end of World War I , Hungary lost two thirds of its territory and much of its population. The country experienced a brief but bloody communist dictatorship and counterrevolution in 1919.
Although Hungary participated in World War II as an ally of the Germans suffered military occupation of Germany after a failed attempt to switch sides on October 15, 1944 . Interim government , led by Communist Party of Hungary , was replaced in November 1945 after the elections gave majority control of the coalition government to the Independent Smallholders Party . The government instituted a radical land reform and gradually nationalized mines, power plants , factories and some of the major banks. In the 1947 elections , marred by fraud, the leftist bloc gained control of the government. The postwar cooperation between the Soviet Union and Eastern collapsed and the Cold War began . With the support of the Soviets, Mátyás Rákosi , formed in Moscow, began the establishment of the communist dictatorship .
Hungary's transition to a parliamentary democracy as the West was the first and most peaceful in the former Soviet bloc. It was inspired by nationalism that has long encouraged Hungarians to control their own destiny . The first free parliamentary election took place in May 1990 . It was a kind of plebiscite based on the communist past . The Communists , reformed and reinvigorated , had a mediocre performance despite having more advantages than you usually have the party in power . The liberal parties , the center-right and populist had a better performance when the Hungarian Democratic Forum party won 43% of the vote and the Alliance of Free Democrats got 24 %.
