8. Función: Como complemento de otro sustantivo, generalmente unido al otro sustantivo mediante una preposición : the Maria´s skirt have a dot. Como núcleo del sujeto : María go to the school. Como núcleo del complemento predicativo o atributo en las oraciones con el verbo ser u oraciones atributivas: My house is of wood. Como complemento de un adjetivo : I like dark green .

11. Sustantivos Comunes: son aquellos que indican la clase de objeto a que pertenece lo designado: boy, toy, pear . Sustantivos Propios: son aquellos mediante los cuales se identifica a un ser, un individuo, bien entre los de su clase, bien por constituir el único individuo de una clase: Juan, Madrid, Martínez, God, Sun, the dog. 16. PLURALES IRREGULARES 1. Algunos sustantivos añaden en al singular: ox , oxen , buey, bueyes; child , children , niño, niños; 2. Otros sustantivos forman el plural cambiando la vocal interna y no toman sufijo: man , men , hombre, hombres; woman , women , mujer, mujeres; 3.
