Growth Mindset & Psychological Safety - High Performing Teams in Software Dev...PALO IT
Software quality, psychological safety and growth mindset might seem to be unrelated at first glance. However, both psychological safety and growth mindset are crucial in high performance teams. Join our upcoming PALO IT BarCamp to understand more about psychological safety and different mindset, learn how these topics affect one another, and get inspired to enable teams to deliver awesomeness to users.
What you will explore
We have always been seeking the secret sauce of high performance teams in the software development industry. Some teams deliver products better than several teams combined. Some others adjust to market change quicker than the change itself. Some others learn from failure and raise the bar by making their product more resilient than ever. Not long ago, Google's Project Aristotle has answered the million dollar question on the successful recipe of building high performance teams with psychological safety cited as the most important factor. In this BarCamp, we will dive into details and find out what it takes to allow individual team members to feel psychologically safe and willing to take calculated risks for learning and improvement.
Through research and case studies, we will explore the following:
> What is psychological safety?
> How mindset affects the perception of psychological safety?
> How to assess mindset and psychological safety in your team?
> How to create an environment that promotes growth mindset and fosters psychological safety?
Audience
> Developers
> Team Leads
> Team Coaches
> Managers
> Business Leaders
> Anyone looking to maximise self and team's ability to grow and improve.
Some think working remotely is a terrible setting that takes control away and let's employees stay at home and be useless. Others find that remote work increases overall productivity and lowers the need to micromanage.
And both sides might be correct as remote work, like all other structures, work really well for some and make others crazy.
The only thing that we can say for certain is that telecommuting is increasingly popular and there are problems you need to face to make it work.

3. HABLAR MAL DE QUIEN
NO ESTÁ
El chisme es algo que no se
puede permitir en ningún
caso. Cuando se presente
una inconformidad con el
proceder de alguien, es
mejor que se fomente la
comunicación directa, para
no distribuir información con
los que no les corresponde y
dejar que repercuta en
comentarios distorsionados.
5. PILAS CON LA DIVERSIDAD
Todos somos seres
totalmente diferentes, es
casi imposible encontrar
personas que piensen,
interactúen o trabajen
exactamente igual. En ese
orden de ideas, hay que
dejar los prejuicios a un
lado y abrirse a todas las
posibilidades…de todas las
persona hay mucho que
aprender.
6. NO ESCUCHAR A NADIE
7. NUNCA SE DICE QUÉ ESTÁ BIEN
HECHO, SOLO QUE HAY ALGO MAL
No se debe caer
en el error de no evaluar
asertivamente al equipo, se
debe reconocer y exaltar
públicamente todo aquello
bien hecho, al igual que
hacer una apropiada
retroalimentación cuando
las cosas no están
saliendo bien.
9. ÁREAS DIVIDIDAS
Cuando se trabaja con
distintas áreas es fundamental
que se comunique de manera
clara la misión del proyecto,
definiendo cómo cada
miembro ayudará en el
cumplimiento del mismo,
evitando así que comiencen a
culparse los unos a los otros
en caso de no alcanzar los
objetivos.
11. EL MAL GENIO NO CRUZA
LA PUERTA
Esas personas negativas y que
todo el tiempo están renegando
desgastan a todo el mundo y
generan un pésimo ambiente de
trabajo. Si existe en tu equipo, es
probable que sea mejor asignarle
tareas que no le impliquen
mucho trabajo en equipo o, aún
mejor, comenzar a desarrollar un
plan de mejoramiento para
incluirlo en próximos proyectos.
