- 2. DIMITRI MENDELEIEV SHOOL THE SCHOOL HISTORY Dimitri Mendeleiev school is an institution focus in formal education, it was founded in 2010, and from 2013 its current owners are the family MORA-WILSON headed by the principal: Magda Wilson who after an important and successful pedagogical experience for 14 years decided to create and believe in this project which looks for being a known institution. In 2013, the school presents to the educational organization the request for secondary school, like that, from 2014, the school counts with students until 9th grades. The school is registered to the unique calendar, approved legally by the secretary of education.

VALUES Dimitri Mendeleiev school’s values are designed through big abilities in order that students must know, acquire, and put into practice in their school day and these are the following: ➢ To believe in God as way of life and salvation. ➢ RESPECT, as main value to live as well in any place. ➢ RESPONSIBILITY understood as the consequence the students must affront for breaking the duties. ➢ COMMITMENT understood as delivery capacity and loyalty. ➢ FREEDOM, as the capacity to think freely and develop the personality. ➢ SOLIDARITY, as the capacity to help each other, and to share the good things that God let us. ➢ HONESTY, as guarantee and quality in everything we do.

MISSION The school is focused to form students who are be able to compete around the world, with necessary knowledges, but, firs of all, they must be King people and excellent citizens, respectfully, carefully with the environment, effective communicators, workers in team and with an open mind. VISSION For the year of 2020, Dimitri Mendeleiev School is entire focus as a strong educative community, with excellence in its teaching process, leader in the management of school life, able to adapt to the social changes, and certificated with an international quality model.

OBJECTIVES GENERAL OBJECTIVE The general objective of this educational project is to capture our formative process, according to its mission, vision, Institutional horizon, statutory decrees, the guidelines of the Catholic school, the policy of quality of bilingualism process, the expectations of our clients and community in general. STRATEGIC AND QUALITY OBJECTIVES: ➢ To position DIMITRI Mendeleev School as a humanist educational institution. ➢ To reach and keep a population of 160 students. ➢ To train competent students in the care of nature, ecology, and environment. ➢ To live the DIMEISTA spirit, in all the daily life of the school. ➢ To create a love culture belonging to the institution. ➢ To consolidate a human team, of teachers, administrative, and operative, competent, delivered to their work and loyalty. ➢ To make the leadership program, something wonderful in the school. ➢ To implement a quality management system that promotes a culture of continuous improvement.

MOTTO “Educating Open Minds to form Leaders and Global Citizens” INTERESTING FACTS ¿WHAT DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER? ➢ RESTAURANT SERVICE The school offers nutritive meal, buffet way to the students, everyday there are meat and chicken, besides that, everyone has lunch at the same time because we pray after start eating. ➢ BILINGUAL TRAINING We start working intensive English from preschool, in primary school the students learn most of the English grammar and in secondary school, they start practicing English through audio and speaking activities. ➢ LEADERSHIP AND VALUES TRANING PROGRAM We train students from childhood to be great leaders and successful people in the future ➢ PARENTS SCHOOL TRAINING We train parents to create a team between school, students, and parents because we must be a family. ➢ SILENT READINHG Our students take the habit of lecture everyday through interesting books and learning about important authors.
- 7. ➢ EXTRA CURRICULAR Into our Curriculum, there is a space to learn different classes or make things practicing their talents, for example, the currently extracurricular classes are: French class, arts, sports, among others. ➢ RETEACHING Our students do their homework at the end of the teaching day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, that way, the teachers can explain the topics that students did not understand as well. ➢ PERSONALIZED EDUCATION Our groups have a maximum of 12 students, like that, we can guarantee a true academic process and close learning.

CONCLUSION In my opinion Dimitri Mendeleiev school ruled the National English Teaching Policies because their primary and secondary teachers count with the required English level to teach, in that school there is no 11th grade, that´s why I cannot say that the students finish their training process with B1 level, but it is important let you know that these grades are approved, next year the school will have students in 11th . In conclusion, this collected was very interesting for me because I learned new things during my research, it is important to see how students can develop amazing things when they are motivated, English should be their favorite subject, that´s why I say Learn English playing and play learning English “Ciro Sosa”
