La PATOLOGÍA DENTAL Y LA AFECTACIÓN SINUSAL MAXILAR ES AMPLIAMENTE RECONOCIDA. Constituyen el 10 al 12 % de los casos de sinusitis maxilar. Las raíces dentarias que suelen estar comprometidas son de los 2º y 1º molares y premolares maxilares y excepcionalmente 3º molares. Esta ocurrencia DEBE SER CONSIDERADA EN PACIENTES CON SÍNTOMAS DE ENFERMEDAD MAXILAR UNILATERAL (rinorrea purulenta, obstrucción nasal, etc.) con HISTORIA DE INFECCIÓN DENTAL o TRATAMIENTO ODONTOLÓGICO PREVIO (cirugía dentoalveolar, periodontal, etc.)
